The Sonnet House really has won the “wedding lottery” over the years. We absolutely, without a doubt, have the best couples in the world. Meet Sarah + Jake. Last April these lovebirds reached out to us to set up an appointment to tour the property and see how we could help with their wedding. Initially, they were looking at another date (we were already booked) and Sarah said they’d consider another date if The Sonnet House was a good fit for them. A few days after that tour, Sarah + Jake had made their decision and we were thrilled they chose us!
Any event booked at Sonnet House receives complementary coordination which not only includes coordination of the rehearsal, ceremony and reception, but that also means we’re here to answer any question along the way. Our preferred vendor list is a fabulous resource for our couples to research wedding vendors that they might not otherwise be familiar with. Sarah + Jake chose each and every one of their vendors from our list and you know what that means? An all-star lineup and a flawless wedding day. The day would not have been perfect without the always amazing, Ann Wade Photography here to capture every little detail.
Sarah wore a beaded wedding gown designed by Sottero-Midgley which was purchased from Glitz Bridal in Nashville, Tennessee. Her bridesmaids wore lovely soft blue dresses from Bella Bridesmaids with hair and make up done by our neighbors, Morgan Ashley Salon. Jake wore a classic, navy suit while his groomsmen wore medium charcoal suits.
Sarah’s dad, Clifford, gave her away while walking down the aisle to “Turning Page” by Sleeping At Last as played by Cahaba River Strings. You’d be hard pressed to find a more romantic song with lyrics like, “I’ve waited a hundred years/But I’d wait a million more for you/Nothing prepared me for/What the privilege of being yours would do.” Go ahead, pass us the kleenex please! One of our favorite bands (ever), Matt Carroll and The Browncoats kept everyone on their feet for the reception. We’re thrilled to be working with them again this Sunday for Kelsey + Brian’s wedding.
After a delicious feast, guests were treated to one of our favorite wedding cakes of 2016. Magnificent Cakes crafted a three-tier buttercream cake with brushed gold accents which was then topped with florals and displayed on a handmade wooden stand by one of Sarah’s family members. Instead of a traditional groom’s cake, Jake opted for a cookie table styled by our own CD Florals, but he kept in mind that Sarah’s favorite cookie is a Snickerdoodle and we made sure we had them! As the bride and groom departed their reception, guests showered them with dried lavender before being whisked away.
