Not to sound like a broken record but we work with the best couples and families ever. The Sonnet House has been so fortunate that our paths have crossed with so many amazing folks and this week we bring you another fabulous couple and amazing wedding day. When it came time to plan Elizabeth + Eric’s big day most of the planning was done by Elizabeth and her mom, Kathleen.
The two of them had a very clear vision of what Elizabeth wanted the day to be which made our jobs that much easier when it came time to execute the plan. The overall decor can be summed up simply: florals everywhere! Corey Daniel Florals created lush and romantic arrangements of hydrangea, roses, peonies, alstroemeria, astilbe, rice flower, and dusty miller.
While we don’t get to work with Rebecca Long Photography as often as we’d like, we sure do appreciate her when she’s here. If you’ve never had a chance to check out her work this is a great opportunity. You’ll never find a more laid back and easy going gal than Rebecca and boy does she deliver when it comes to her work. Aren’t Elizabeth + Eric’s photos stunning? Of course Elizabeth dazzled in her strapless lace gown from Bridal Bliss and who could forget those romantic chiffon bridesmaids dresses from Bella Bridesmaids. Everyone was dolled up thanks to the ladies at Irrelephant. If you’re still on the hunt for beauty services, we highly recommend checking them out.
We love any chance we get to catch up with our couples after the wedding, whether that is in person, over e-mail, social media or seeing them as guests at weddings. Elizabeth + Eric recently answered a few questions for us and we’re super appreciative! | October 2017
How did they two of you meet? | Eric and I met the summer after our junior year in college. My best friend growing up was friends with his best friend, so they set us up! We dated that summer and then through the end of college. He proposed the August after we graduated at Piedmont Park in Atlanta!
You guys chose Rebecca Long as your photographer and she’s one of our favorites. She certainly has a laid back, go with the flow shooting style, was that helpful to calm the overall nerves that come along with it being your wedding day? | Rebecca’s calmness was wonderful to have on our wedding day! She made everything easy and fun and so special. She even helped my mom tie my wedding dress because the corset was so confusing! She was the best and we LOVE our photos.
Elizabeth, your mom was very involved in the planning process and it’s obvious the two of you are very close. What was your favorite part of the wedding planning process with her? | My mom was the best during the planning process! She’s super detail-oriented and had this whole notebook and checklist throughout the whole thing! I would not have been able to have the wedding of my dreams without her. My favorite part was when she and my sister helped me pick my dress! Also, I loved that on the days when we would do a lot of stuff for the wedding, we would always go get a sweet tea somewhere and talk and relax! It was such a sweet time.
To us, it isn’t a wedding without flowers and the floral design aspect of your wedding was very important to you. Where did you draw inspiration from when choosing certain details for your wedding? | I love all things pink and white and natural, so that’s where my flower inspiration came from! My style tends to be very girly and traditional. Peonies and roses have always been my favorite flowers so it was an easy choice when it came time to begin planning to flowers!
Eric, what was your favorite part about the wedding day? | When I got to see my bride 🙂
