Bride Megan knew from the very beginning that yellow and soft purple would be her wedding colors. Since Megan lived out of state, most of our meetings and communication was with her mom, Tricia. The Sonnet House loved working with both of them and we think Tricia did a fabulous job relaying Megan’s vision to us. Birmingham wedding photographer, Arden Photography, was brought in to capture the day and she did a fabulous job as always! We cannot thank Arden Photography enough for sharing her beautiful work with us.
Megan + Dan love the outdoors so getting married underneath our elm tree was perfect for them. Corey used our birch arbor draped in white fabric to create the perfect backdrop for the ceremony. He used sunflowers, Megan’s favorite flower, to create floral tie backs that made everyone take notice. Lots of little details were incorporated into the day including a guest book which was National Geographic’s Journeys of a Lifetime and a cookie table that was brought out during the reception for guests to enjoy on the dance floor. Barb’s Cakes created a beautiful, sage green, bride’s cake with a campsite topper. The tent had a banner that said “Just Married” with the bride’s and groom’s shoes kicked off. Dan’s groom’s cake, one of our favorite Southern traditions, was made to look like a slab of ribs, complete with melted sugar “BBQ sauce.”
