The Sonnet House knew from the beginning that Sarah + Carter’s wedding day was going to be something special. Sarah booked our venue almost two years in advance and when it came to planning, she hit the ground running. We’re the first ones to shout from the rooftop about how important wedding details are. Sarah listened, carved her own path, and killed it when it came to entertaining their guests.
By now, you’ve seen Sarah + Carter’s proposal, engagement photos, bridal portraits, and rehearsal dinner, so we know you’re ready for the grand finale: their wedding! Sarah dazzled in a Lazaro gown from Bridals by Lori in Atlanta, you know…the Say Yes to the Dress boutique. Her hair and make up (along with the bridesmaid’s) was done by Muse Salon in Birmingham. Sarah wore an amazing pair of gold Jimmy Choo pumps then changed in the cutest pair of Kate Spade sandals you’ve ever seen for the reception. Her lovely bridesmaids wore floor length Jenny Yoo gowns in the color, Mayan Blue, which was the perfect complement to the dusty blue florals that decorated the day.
The day was captured by two of the best professionals in the business, Kelly Cummings of Spindle Photography, and CAM Video Productions. If you’re still on the hunt for a photographer and/or videographer, you should seriously consider them. Sarah + Carter’s wedding is a perfect example of how important it is to have professionals capturing your day. There were so many details incorporated throughout the wedding that may have been overlooked if not for Kelly’s keen eye. Sarah didn’t let any details slip by. Some of the best to point out include the emerald wax seal used on their (stunning!) invitation suite, their wedding programs grommeted so that they could double as a fan, yard games to entertain guests before dinner, temporary tattoos depicting a caricature of the newlyweds which were handed out during the reception, but our favorite? Our favorite detail (maybe EVER) is definitely the framed, handwritten vows on handmade paper. Sarah + Carter each wrote out their vows and had them framed to be displayed during the reception but also in their home after the wedding. I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen a more romantic display. Swoon.
DMP Band kept guests on their feet all night long until it was time for the newlyweds to depart in their vintage Rolls Royce, Catherine, from the Coats Classic Cars fleet. Overall it was an absolutely perfect day that we were thrilled to be a part of. Thank you for choosing The Sonnet House!
