Lydia + Zach tied the knot on a beautiful Friday in November at The Sonnet House. It was actually the first time we had the opportunity to work with Taylor Dane Photography and we’re so grateful for the introduction because we’ve had several weddings together since then.
From our very first meeting, Lydia knew precisely what she wanted. In love with the look of natural greenery, not to mention the natural plethora we have on our property, she chose eclectic arrangements that were styled in gathered tea tins, mixed bottles, and various gold containers. Her bridesmaids, including her Matron of Honor – Mom, wore mismatched gowns in rich, eggplant tones. While our attention is usually drawn specifically to the ladies, we absolutely cannot let Zach and his groomsmen slip by without mention. Zach may have donned one of our favorite fashion details of the year — wooden bowties for himself and the gentlemen in the wedding. He also wore a plaid, eggplant shirt instead of the traditional white button down which were naturally accented with, you guessed it, an all greenery boutonniere.
Lydia’s dad, Stacy, is in the production industry and oversaw the filming of the wedding day video while her mom, Dawn, baked both the bride’s and groom’s cakes. You could say it was a family affair that day! On Site Productions provided both the ceremony sound and reception entertainment, while a friend of the family, Jake, played the guitar for the processional.
It was a pleasure working with you and we look forward to watching your marriage grow for many years. Congratulations!
After the wedding, Lydia left this super-thoughtful review on Facebook:
It’s no secret that planning a wedding is potentially one of the most stressful experiences you can take on. Choosing a venue, caterer and floral designer is a huge part of the process and subsequently a huge part of the stress. We booked a tour of The Sonnet House after my new husband and myself had two separate people rave about how wonderful it is. Having never seen the house in person, we were blown away by its beauty. It truly is the whole package, offering a little something for everyone and perfect indoor opportunities for the outdoor wedding that the weather doesn’t want to work with. While we were in-love with the house itself, what really sold us was the incredible team that comes with booking The Sonnet House. Ellen, Corey and Jared took my visions and husband’s requests and ran with it. After our initial planning meeting, we were amazed at how much stress was relieved, because The Sonnet House crew had it all taken care of. Ellen was there to answer all of my crazy bride questions…trust me, I had no idea what I was doing throughout the entire process. They think of everything, working tirelessly to make sure that you get the absolute most you can out of your wedding. The wedding day was completely stress-free. Ellen and Jared were there taking care of me and my soon-to-be husband and our crazy bridal party. Corey provided us with florals and decorations truly better than the Pinterest-crazed bride in me had hoped for. Our guests raved about the food, decor and the venue. It was virtually flawless from the moment our wedding day began to the moment my family left the property. They even packed my husband and me a picnic basket full of food from our reception to take with us to the hotel, because you WILL be absolutely starving by the time all of the craziness is over. My favorite part about working with The Sonnet House was the way they ensured that my parents got to enjoy the day with me. My mom truly was “mom” on my wedding day. They both were right there with us, soaking in every second. I was thankful for Ellen and Jared taking care of our wedding, as if it were the most important day in the world, so that my mom wasn’t running around consumed in the crazy. Thank you SO much, Sonnet House. From my whole family, our wedding day was bliss and it’s all thanks to you guys.
