When it comes to classic and elegant weddings, Heather + Brian’s October wedding will be one The Sonnet House goes to for quite some time. It was abnormally warm for late October but we weren’t complaining. It was literally the perfect day for an outdoor wedding and we were thrilled to be a part of it.
Heather + Brian have been together for over twelve years so she has had plenty of time to plan exactly what she wanted. Her first stop after securing her venue and date was to Heidi Elnora Atelier, a local wedding dress designer whose gowns reflect Southern heritage and progressive femininity. One of our favorite parts about Heather’s gown was the full sleeve lace jacket that she wore for the ceremony but removed for the reception to give her more of a relaxed look. For the reception, she added a beaded belt which turned heads and inspired the design of the wedding cake by Cory Knowlton.
The day was captured by Rachel Coffey of Rachel Coffey Photography and we cannot wait for another opportunity to work with her. If you’re still looking for a photographer, check her out! Flowers were very important to Heather and she worked closely with Corey Daniel Florals to create just the look she was going for. Lots of white hydrangea, roses, dahlias, stock, lisianthus, and freesia were used throughout Corey’s designs for the bouquets, centerpieces, ceremony flowers, and cakes. We cannot get enough of it! Heather opted for our harvest gold shantung linens which not only brought a bit of color to the tables but also texture. If you’re looking for a way to get that extra pop out of your decor, please please please consider a specialty linen.
One of our favorite hair and make up artists in Birmingham, Melissa Bogardus, was on hand that day to style Heather and her bridesmaids to perfection. Did you see Heather’s side pony? We could gaze at it all day long. The most important ladies of Heather’s life wore ideal gowns for an outdoor Fall wedding. With a cream top and taupe bottom, the floor length dresses were accented perfectly with a chunky necklace and cream bouquets. Brian and his groomsmen wore black tuxedos from Mr. Burch Formal Wear, where we always recommend your guys head for their fashion needs.
The newlyweds left no stone unturned while thinking of their guests’s experience and what a better way to make sure they are entertained than by hiring On Site Productions. Anytime we have a couple on the search for entertainment, the team at On Site is always the first recommendation out of our mouths.
After the wedding, Heather left this glowing review on Wedding Wire:
