One of the things that The Sonnet House loves the most is when our couples integrate touches of their personalities and hobbies into their wedding day. From beginning to end Erin + Joe’s wedding day was filled with the details we love to see. We had a blast planning their wedding and seeing it all come together on a beautiful March day.
Erin’s style can definitely be described as classic and sophisticated but don’t mistake that for boring, like ever. For example Erin wore a stunning Allure Bridals gown from Diane’s Formal Affair in Jasper yet she wore an inflatable T-Rex costume for their first look. Is that not awesome?! It completely took Joe by surprise but afterward he was all smiles and while Erin changed upstairs, he said he should have known she would do something like that. They really are just the cutest.
Another consistent theme throughout their wedding was their shared love of all things Harry Potter. Last Fall when they had their engagement session with Laura Wilkerson Photography, they wore Harry Potter house scarves and even posed for a few photos with their wands. Erin donned a gold bangle with the Deathly Hallow symbol and it also popped up atop their wedding cake. The details didn’t stop there though. Erin + Joe had a lovely spread ready for the bridal party when they arrived including a ‘getting ready bar.’ Joe’s groomsmen were gifted fun socks that represented each of their personalities. Guests even took home a piece of family history at the end of the night. For their wedding favors the newlyweds gifted Iris Bulbs which were dear to Joe’s grandmother and her garden. That’s not where the gifts ended though, guests also took home gourmet bottles of olive oil and vinegar.
Corey Daniel Florals designed stunning bouquets in soft pink and cream blooms that looked perfect against Erin’s bridesmaid’s beaded champagne colored floor length gowns. Guests enjoyed Southern comfort food, a bar offering local brews, and tunes from Nerdy Boy Productions until it was time to see Erin + Joe off. Guests, wearing St. Patrick’s Day flair, sprinkled rose petals as the newest Mr. and Mrs. made their way to a beautiful vintage car from Coats Classic Cars.
Your day was as amazing as you guys are and we were thrilled to have been a part of it. Congratulations!
