Kelsey + Brian tied the knot at The Sonnet House on a stunningly beautiful Fall day. Labor Day weekend is usually thought of as the kick off to Fall and Kelsey embraced that every step of the way throughout the planning process. We always recommend that brides consider Sundays in months that have holidays on Mondays (for instance, Memorial Day, Labor Day, President’s Day, and Columbus Day.) Not only do we offer special discounts for Friday and Sunday weddings, but a majority of your guests will be off from work on Monday. Can we say bonus Saturday?
Our in-house florist, Corey Daniel Florals, worked closely with Kelsey to facilitate her dream becoming reality. Using textural blooms and foliage such as tree fern, dahlias, freesia, scabiosa pods, stock, willow eucalyptus, and ranunculus, Corey was able to create the perfect bouquets and arrangements for an outdoor Fall wedding in Alabama. The ceremony decor for Kelsey + Brian’s wedding was an instant favorite with our brides. In the months following their wedding, we have had more brides use their decor as inspiration for their own day than any other wedding to date.
For her bridal look she recruited local hair & make up artist, Melissa Bogardus, for a classic updo and a natural make up palette that accented Kelsey’s gorgeous natural beauty while providing her with style that would last all night long. Kelsey stunned in a satin Ann Barge wedding gown with one of the most fabulous pair of bridal heels we’ve ever seen! Her sisters served as her Maids of Honor while Brian’s dad and brother stood beside him in handsome Hugo Boss suits.
The day was captured by one of our favorites, Weddings by Andrea Mabry. We can never thank her enough for always graciously sharing her work with us! The ceremony music was performed by Cahaba River Strings. The bride and groom chose traditional music such as Air on G, Pachbel’s Canon, Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, and Greig. For the reception, local band Matt Carroll & the Brown Coats kept guests dancing on their feet. They’re hands down one of our favorite bands and we recommend them to every couple that books The Sonnet House. Matt Carroll and his crew absolutely keep guests entertained and wondering what great hit is coming next.
Thank you for choosing The Sonnet House! Your wonderful day is one we will look back on for inspiration for many many years to come.
