Laura + Scott’s April wedding at The Sonnet House is one that still sticks out in our minds almost a year later. The day was absolutely perfect and there’s nothing we love more than a beautiful Spring wedding underneath our elm tree. The husband and wife team, Stacy and Brandon Gresham, of Simple Color Photography are excellent and we love that they shoot here all the time! We always know that we will end of up with hundreds of fabulous photos to show future brides, and this time was no exception.
Laura drew some of her wedding inspiration from a wedding we did a while back including her vibrant color palette and mismatched bridesmaids dresses. The electric hues were perfect for an April wedding in Alabama! Corey used a mixture of coral peonies, orange poppies and ranunculus, mini green hydrangea, and craspedia to create the bouquets and flower arrangements. The centerpieces were done in our mixed, vintage bottles placed on wooden discs. Laura + Scott’s wedding included two of our favorite wedding photos of all time: her reaction to reading a letter from Scott as well as a photo of Laura and her father as they begin their trek down the aisle. Swoon!
Magic Muffins in Cahaba Heights provided the bride’s cake, and B & A Warehouse did a wonderful job on the groom’s dessert table. Local musician Lauren Love played during the ceremony, and Black Tie Events DJ out of Atlanta, Georgia kept guests tearing up the dance floor all night. AG Lighting strung cafe lights over our patio and Over the Mountain Sedan whisked the couple away at the end of the night in a limousine.
The newlyweds both attended Georgia Tech and had a personalized corn hole set for guests to play during the reception. Another neat detail was the directional sign that welcomed guests to the ceremony. The couple honeymooned in Malta and this was a fun way to keep guests in the loop.
