If The Sonnet House were to write a step-by-step guide for how to be a lovely couple, we would use Sydney + Ethan as our example! We can’t express how wonderful it was to work with them and their families. We’ll never forget the sweet note that Sydney’s mom, Julie, sent us shortly after Sydney reserved us. Julie lives out of town and was relieved that Sydney had us assisting her during the wedding planning process. At the end of the night when the last gift was loaded into her car, she gave me the biggest hug and said if she had it all to do over again she wouldn’t change a thing. That’s all we can ask for!
Of course we didn’t make it happen alone. Sydney + Ethan have excellent taste, especially in wedding vendors. Early on during the planning process, Sydney saw a blog post of Jill + Van’s wedding last April that was shot by Kevin Roberts Photography. Shortly after, we received an e-mail from her asking what we thought about working with him because she was interested. We absolutely have adored working with Kevin in the past and were excited to have him back out.
Sydney wore a stunning Martina Liana wedding gown from Ivory & White Boutique in Mountain Brook, Alabama. Her bridesmaids wore floor length peach dresses from Bridesmaids Inc. Everyone’s hair and make up was styled by the oh-so talented team at Morgan Ashley Salon. We love referring our brides to them because they always do a great job and they’re our neighbors! Ethan and his groomsmen wore handsome navy suits from our favorite, Mr. Burch Formal Wear. We’re always happy to refer to local vendors and it doesn’t get any better than Mr. Burch.
Our favorite ceremony musicians, Cahaba River Strings, played beautiful music for the prelude and ceremony. For their ceremony music, Sydney + Ethan chose traditional songs such as Canon in D, Jesu Joy of Man’s Desiring, Trumpet Voluntary, and of course The Wedding March. Tim with DJ Overflo Productions kept guests on their feet all night long. Local cake baker, Magnificent Cakes, designed the four tiered, brushed buttercream wedding cake which was on display in front of our beautiful white fireplace in the front room. For Ethan’s dessert table, he opted for baby bites (an Alabama favorite) from Pastry Art Bake Shoppe.
Thank you to everyone that played a role in Sydney + Ethan’s perfect day!
