When The Sonnet House met with Sarah for her final planning meeting she asked us to design the flowers for the after rehearsal dinner too. It so happens that the dinner was being held at one of our favorite venues in Birmingham, The Historic Tutwiler Hotel. If you’ve never visited The Tutwiler, we strongly suggest it. Even if you’re local and just want a stay-cation or weekend getaway, contact them immediately. Not only is it in a great location (at the corner of Sixth Avenue North and Richard Arrington Jr. Boulevard) but the staff there is wonderful. They have remained on our preferred vendor list for guest room blocks and for wedding night accommodations since we opened in 2007. They’re that great!
The dinner itself was catered in-house by The Tutwiler Hotel while Corey was brought in to design the flowers. Sarah went with Kate Spade inspired decor such as black and white table runners, beautiful turquoise place cards which were hand calligraphied in gold ink, and gold. Lots of gold. Does it get any dreamier than this? The flowers were arranged in gold containers with cream and green blooms. Gold votive candle holders were also brought in to reflect the overall feel of the evening.
Sarah + Carter also hired Spindle Photography to capture the night which is so (SO) important! Many couples skip having a photographer or videographer for their rehearsal dinner when in reality, you’re going to have more special and intimate moments with your closest friends and family at your rehearsal dinner than at your wedding. Many photographers will add on this service for a much lower cost than you may expect. When it doubt, hire a photographer.
We can’t thank you enough for allowing us to be a part of such a special time in your lives. We love you both and CAN’T WAIT to share the wedding pictures!
