March 8, 2018
The Sonnet House has hit the ground running for 2018 and so far it is proving to be another amazing year. Corey Daniel Florals’ floral workshop will be complete very soon and we’ll begin moving items over to the new building within the next few weeks. We’ve already met with most of our 2018 brides for their initial planning meetings and will begin working on final meetings very soon. There’s just so much goodness in store, but first…Ashley + David’s May wedding. We sure do miss the warmer weather, don’t you?
These lovebirds have one of the most interesting wedding day stories of the year. Going into their day, everyone pretty much expected to get rained out. It was 100% chance of rain, was raining when we arrived and rained literally up until 5:25, schedule 5:30pm ceremony time. Luckily the ceremony decor was simple, a lovely spray of flowers across the mantel, so our staff rushed the flowers from the chapel, where guests were already seated and fully expecting an indoor ceremony, and we quickly made a game plan to delay the ceremony by a few minutes and have it outdoors like originally planned.
Ashley + David’s day was captured by the lovely Deidre Ruth Photography and we cannot wait to work with her in a few weeks for Morgan + Cody’s April wedding. Ashley dazzled in a beautiful gown from The Something Blue Shoppe in Hartselle, Alabama. Her bridesmaids wore mint dresses by Bill Levkoff while David and his groomsmen wore grey suits from Image’s Bridal, Prom, & Tuxedo.
Guests enjoyed music from Amerson Events for both the ceremony and reception, then dined on hors d’oeuvres and delicious wedding cake from Cakes by Elise. If you haven’t had the pleasure of enjoying one of her desserts yet, we strongly suggest getting yourself to her shop very, very soon. One of our favorite moments from the reception was when Ashley surprised her grandfather by having everyone sing Happy Birthday to him and present him with his own red velvet cupcake.
We hope you enjoyed browsing their photos as much as we have! Congratulations, Ashley + David, and thank you for choosing us for your special day!
