The Sonnet House recently posted a blog of Sarah + Carter’s engagement photo session from Spindle Photography. One of my favorite things about planning their wedding so far has been the story of their actual proposal. You can view their engagement photo session here: Downtown Birmingham Engagement Session.
Not only do we adore Sarah + Carter, but it’s their attention to detail that has us most excited for their May wedding. Carter proposed on a beautiful summer day on Smith Lake. He arranged for a friend, Cameron Mitchell, to secretly photograph the actual proposal, and he even made sure that their closest friends and family were around to celebrate afterwards.
Here is the story of their amazing engagement in Sarah’s words:
Carter proposed on a Tuesday on Smith Lake. We were spending a week off at his family’s lake house. He told me that we were going to go on a boat ride and then have dinner after with his mom and step-dad. So I got dressed, we went out on the boat, he brought me to our favorite spot on the lake and proposed. It turned out he had a photographer, Cameron Mitchell, hiding during the actual proposal. Then we went to pick him up and had an impromptu proposal session on the boat. We went back to the lake house where our friends and families were waiting to surprise me! We had a “proposal party” out on the dock. Two of my bridesmaids, Mary & Veronica, even flew in from Texas and California for the occasion. It was the most magical and exciting day.
May 2016 can’t come quickly enough. These two lovebirds are full of surprises and we can’t wait to see what their wedding day entails.
