There are so many personal details and occasions from Katherine + Bradley’s May wedding at The Sonnet House that we could spend a week talking about them. Thank goodness Simple Color Photo was here to capture every moment!
Katherine chose a color palette of a rich, cornflower blue for the bridesmaids dresses (from Bridesmaids Inc.) and Corey utilized a creamy palette of blush, soft yellows, creams, and muted green flowers for not only the bouquets and centerpieces but also for the ceremony decor. Katherine stunned in a Mikaella wedding gown from The White Room Birmingham. Seriously, would you check out that lace detail?! Hair and makeup for both the bride and bridesmaids was done at the best salon Birmingham has to offer, Morgan Ashley Salon, which is located just up the street from Sonnet House. Her Cinderella moment was complete when she slipped on not one, but two, pairs of Badgley Mischka heels for her wedding day. She wore one pair for photos and the ceremony, then slipped into the second pair which were dubbed her “dancing shoes.” LOVE IT! Bradley and his groomsmen were such handsome gentlemen in their black formal tuxedos from Mr. Burch Formal Wear.
Katherine + Bradley chose traditional music for their ceremony which was performed by Birmingham Harpist, Marsha Gunter. Classics like Jesu, Joy of Man’s Desiring, Canon in D, La Vie en Rose, and Trumpet Voluntary rounded out the ceremony, while How Great Thou Art played beautifully during their communion. The jazz band, Bad Brad & the Sipsey Sims kept guests on their feet during the party and even led the crowd via second line for the couple’s departure from the reception. No kidding, they had a jazz band play Big Band music while getting everyone lined up to shake their Mississippi State cowbells, courtesy of the bride and groom who are HUGE Bulldog fans. Brad and the guys were also nice enough to turn the microphone (and guitar) over to Bradley during the reception so that he could serenade his lovely wife. Cue. The. Tears.
Mr. and Mrs. Strickland ended their evening by riding off in a vintage Rolls-Royce Silver Wraith, also appropriately named “Catherine” from Coats Classic Cars. We enjoyed having the opportunity to work with you and your families and wish you nothing but happiness in your future together. Congratulations!
