Is there anything more romantic than a candlelit dinner on the patio at The Sonnet House, underneath the string lights on a gorgeous Fall evening? If there is, we haven’t found it. We had the pleasure of working with Abigail, Matt, and Abigail’s mother, Amanda, for over a year to plan every little detail for what turned out to be a perfect evening under the stars in Alabama. Romance was the name of the game and it showed in every area; from the florals to Abigail’s gorgeous Modern Trousseau wedding dress from White Dresses Huntsville, and the deep burgundy gowns from Cherry Tree Lane worn by her bridesmaids. Corey Daniel Florals used deep burgundy blooms like dahlias, stock, roses, scabiosa, astilbe, and deep greens like tree fern, Italian ruscus, and eucalyptus throughout the ceremony and reception. Gold mercury glass containers mixed with gold trays and candlesticks complimented the flowers and really helped set the tone for dinner.
Guests dined on a dual entree main course of Beef Wellington and Grilled Shrimp with sides of grilled vegetables, roasted nu potatoes, and Spring Mix salad. Local Birmingham musician Derek Sellers led his band throughout cocktail hour, dinner service, and of course the reception. Derek often plays solo gigs throughout the Birmingham Metro Area and we suggest checking him out on Facebook for a schedule of where you can catch him next.
Since Fall nights typically get a little chilly, Abigail + Matt planned ahead by having fleece blankets available and with an adorable display too! We enjoyed celebrating with you guys and wish you nothing but years and years of happiness. Congratulations!
