The Sonnet House had a great time yesterday celebrating Alex + Collin but today is all about Caroline + Ryan‘s first anniversary! These two have had quite the first year of marriage which included a move to Iowa for both of them to further their medical careers.

Not much excites us more than a wedding with a great team of vendors and boy did M. Elizabeth Weddings and Events put together a great one. Working together with two of Birmingham’s best wedding planners, Meghan + Candice, twice in a month is a true treat. It was our first opportunity to work with Leah Grace Photography and to say we are in love with her dreamy style is an understatement.

What makes amazing photos even better? Loose and airy garden style floral designs by Corey Daniel Florals. Caroline chose a neutral palette of soft greens and white flowers. This look was achieved with the blooms such as roses, lisianthus, ranunculus as well as varieties of eucalyptus and fern. The bridesmaids bouquets were literally perfection against their taupe floor length gowns.

The bridal party’s hair and make up was styled perfectly by Katina Carter. For brides still in the planning process, here’s a pro tip: make sure to hire a professional who has extensive experience with bridal hair and make up. Katina is a great example of a hair and make up artist we happily refer to you, not just because she’s tremendous at her art but because she works quickly and efficiently to keep everyone on schedule for photos. If your hair and make up runs late, so will the rest of the day.

Cahaba River Strings played the prelude and ceremony music with sound, including the lapel microphone for their Officiant, provided by OnSite Productions. Alexander City, Alabama based band Lucky Town performed for the reception and made sure the dancefloor stayed love with songs like Don’t Stop Believing and Ain’t Too Proud To Beg to hits from Nelly, Hank Williams, Jr. and Cyndi Lauper — in other words they can do it all.

After a dinner prepared stations style which included chicken and waffles, fajitas, collard greens and even a late night snack, french fries (Caroline’s favorite!), that was passed to guests on the dance floor following last call for the bar.

Happy First Anniversary Caroline + Ryan! We wish you nothing but the best and thank you tons for choosing us.
